Course Overview
Produced in collaboration with Mayo Clinic, this course covers the science-based facts of commonly used integrative treatments.
In recent decades, integrative medicine has gained acceptance as a form of treatment and healing. This approach incorporates natural or holistic practices, such as herbal supplements, meditation, acupuncture, and yoga, to complement conventional Western medicine and promote overall wellness. While Western medicine achieves remarkable healing, it doesn’t provide cures for every condition. Integrative medicine focuses on prevention and offers therapies that assist with presurgery preparation, postsurgery recovery, and chronic pain management.
This course features 12 informative lectures presented by Dr. Brent Bauer, director of the Mayo Clinic’s Complementary and Integrative Medicine Program. You’ll learn about scientifically tested integrative approaches that can help alleviate health issues such as arthritis, fibromyalgia, Alzheimer’s disease, high blood pressure, stress, heart disease, menopause, and the common cold.
